We kindly ask you to read our house rules carefully and keep them in mind during your stay.
House Rules
- NO LITTERING THE GARDEN NOR THE SWIMMING POOL: Smoking is only allowed outside and with the use of ashtrays
- SWIMMING POOL: No running around the pool or jumping in it. Always close recliners and shadows before leaving the area and/or the property.
- WATER IS A PRECIOUS RESOURCE: DO NOT WASTE IT! Podere Fonte del Merlo runs on own water wells so please be considerate of the use of water in and outside the house.
- NO VEHICLES ALLOWED ON THE GRASS (EVER)
- FIREPLACES: It is not allowed to light the internal fireplaces durign summer time. Never leave fires unattended throughout the property
- GUEST: No unregistered guests are allowed
- NO USE OF FREE FLAMES: such as fireworks, chinese lamps, etc…
HOUSE GUIDE:
INDOOR FIREPLACES
Please do not light the internal fireplaces during summer time. Never leave a fire in the fireplace unattended. Only wood or manufactured logs should be burned, and just a few logs at a time. Make sure the area around the fireplace is clear of anything that is potentially flammable (ie: furniture, clothes, cushions, newspapers, books, etc.) as they could catch fire.
BBQ AND WOOD OVEN
Before cooking on the barbecue, the charcoal should have gone through the initial burning period when the flames have died down and the coals are grey in colour. The cooking grill should be positioned at a height so that the rate of cooking can be easily controlled.

SWIMMING POOL
A swimming pool of 9×5 meters is available for free use of the guests. It’s width is 1.5 meters with a circular stair to enter. Do not leave unattended children around or inside the swimming pool. Be aware of the possibly slippery pavement when wet.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
In order to keep the property in the best conditions during summer time, a regular garden and swimming pool maintenance will be done, also during your stay. Your host will inform you upon arrival or via text during your stay of the days and times of the week when you should expect to see workers doing their jobs.
TV AND STREAM SERVICES
There is a Smart TV on the ground floor salon. Feel free to stream through your favorite services, such as Netflix, Disney+, YouTube and Prime Video using the Fonte del Merlo (or Merlo) profiles already set up, or simply switch to your own personal profile. Just remember to log out before leaving. Unfortunately, due to the location of the property, no cable is available.
SET THE TEMPERATURE
The villa does not have AC.
You will soon notice that, keeping the shutters closed during the hotter times of the day, the house will maintain a comfortable cooler temperature.
In case you need some more comfort, you can find funs, that you can move according to your needs, on the first floors.

LAUDRY
The Laundry room is located on the ground floor next to the service bathroom. Feel free to use the washing machine but be sure to always load as full as possible.
GARBAGE
Local rules: “door-to-door” Recycling: Place your trash in the different bins according to the material you are throwing away. Please dispose the trash bag outside the gate daily according to the daily recycling calendar provided, hung by the trash bins.
